Our Sea Kayaking Tours
Tours are offered year round catering, equally for those seeking a peaceful paddle or an adventurous kayaking challenge. Morning, Afternoon, Extended and Sunset Tours run daily. All of our tour locations are within close proximity to the town of Batemans Bay on the South Coast of NSW, and can offer something for everyone.
The areas visited by "Bay and Beyond" hold great natural beauty which can truly be appreciated under the power of your own paddle.
Close encounters with marine life, such as dolphins, are quite common. All of our paddling occurs within the newly created Batemans Marine Park in the Eurobodalla Shire.We will teach you the paddling strokes and techniques that you will need for the tour and will clearly explain and demonstrate all safety and rescue information for your peace of mind. Tours on lakes, tidal rivers, bay and open ocean environments are all available depending on your experience, the prevailing weather, and the sort of coastal adventure you are seeking. Our primary touring areas are: Durras Lake , the coastline of the Greater Murramarang National Park, the Clyde River, and Batemans Bay. Other places in Eurobodalla or Shoalhaven Shires by request.
Durras Lake, for example, is one of the most pristine coastal lakes in New South Wales. It is surrounded by the Greater Murramarang National Park with no foreshore development. You can be assured to spot significant water birds and jumping fish as you go. Enjoy the magnificent spotted gums and burrawang palms meeting the waters edge. Join us for a peaceful paddle during the day or in the evening as the sun sets over the lake. On dark nights experience the “phosphorescence phenomenon”. Not to be missed!

The Clyde River is one of the most unspoilt rivers in New South Wales and offers magic vistas and diverse wildlife. Paddle with the tide on a journey that winds from Nelligen to the Bay. Explore mangrove creeks and find out all about the local oyster industry. Stop off on “big” or “little” islands on route for morning tea or lunch.

Batemans Bay itself has various islands that we paddle out to and around. Snapper Island is an easy and protected paddle around which you may see little penguins. We often have encounters with dolphins, turtles and other marine life while paddling in the Bay. The Tollgate Islands can be incorporated in a longer tour for paddlers with some experience. Batemans Bay is also home to some astoundingly beautiful coves and creeks. Cullendulla Creek has wonderful mangroves and wetlands which are nurseries for local fish.

The Murramarang Coastline is a spectacular and potentially more challenging tour. It boasts secluded coves and rocky cliffs with interesting geological significance, and stunning views up and down the coast. Wasp Island, off South Durras, is an important nesting sight for little penguins, storm petrels, and shearwaters. We can paddle south or north from Durras and may do a one way trip to the Bay stopping on a remote beach for lunch. The route depends on the prevailing wind and swell. This is a fantastic trip of discovery and challenge.

Morning/Afternoon Durras Lake Tour: (approx 3 hours) $55 per person - (includes morning/afternoon tea)
Extended Durras Lake Tour: (approx 6 hours) $100 per person - (includes lunch, drinks and snacks)
Ocean or River Tour: (approx 4 hours) $70 per person - (includes morning/afternoon tea)
Extended Ocean or River Tour (approx 6.5 hours) $110 per person - (includes lunch, drinks and snacks)
Sunset Durras Lake Tour (approx 2.5 hours) $45 per person - (includes evening tea)

We like to run tours with 3 or more people. We are happy to go with 2 people but charge $10 more per head than prices above. A 50% deposit is required at the time of booking to ensure your place.
